Talk about the difference between power battery and energy storage battery
The main differences between power battery and energy storage battery are:different battery capacity,different application scenarios,different battery management system BMS,different types of batteries used,different performance and design.
Power battery,which mainly provides power for driving tools and rotating motors,is mainly used in electric vehicles,electric trains,electric logistics vehicles,electric two-wheelers,tricycles,four-wheelers,golf carts,electric transfer loaders,electric ships,unmanned power tools,such as drones,lawnmowers,electric toy vehicles,unmanned electric transfer vehicles and so on.
Energy storage batteries are mainly used in solar and wind power stations,communication base stations,household energy storage,portable power sources,as well as renewable energy storage batteries.
Limited by the car's size and weight,the power battery starts to accelerate and occasionally provides high current climbing,so it has higher performance requirements than the energy storage battery,and pays more attention to the charge and discharge power,which requires fast charge rate,high output power and impact resistance.in particular,high safety and high energy density,long-lasting life,and lightweight requirements of weight and volume.
From the point of view of battery materials,the lithium storage performance of cathode and cathode materials and the related properties of electrolyte and diaphragm need to be considered.
The energy storage battery device does not need to move,and different energy storage scenarios have different requirements for power and density.The weight and volume are generally not too high.The preparation of energy storage battery emphasizes the battery capacity,especially the operation stability and service life.More consideration should be given to the consistency of battery modules.In the aspect of battery materials,in order to pursue the long life and low cost of the whole energy storage equipment,we need to pay attention to the expansion rate,energy density,performance uniformity and so on.
The emphasis on battery performance is different,and the performance and design are also different.The energy storage battery mainly stores electric energy,and the fluctuation of external power supply is not as great as that of power battery.It can be considered that the output of the energy storage battery is relatively stable,the discharge current is generally small,and the discharge time is longer.
Energy storage battery can be used for power peak regulation,off-grid photovoltaic energy storage or peak-valley price difference energy storage on the user side,which generally requires continuous charging or discharge for more than two hours.Therefore,it is suitable to use the capacity battery with charge and discharge rate≤0.5C;for the energy storage scene with power frequency regulation or smooth renewable energy fluctuation,the energy storage battery needs to charge and discharge quickly in seconds to minutes,so it is suitable for the application of≥2C power battery,while in some application scenarios that need to undertake both frequency modulation and peak regulation,energy battery will be more suitable.
